Fitness Goals and Fair Food

So I went to the fair with my niece and really had a good time. But it felt different this time. I really didn’t want the fried foods. I saw fried Oreos, fried dough, Philly cheese steaks, hot dogs, hamburgs, ice cream, popcorn, sugary almonds, etc. Nothing really popped out.

To be honest I did have a protein shake beforehand so I wouldn’t really want to eat there. But even if I did in previous years I wouldn’t have got something there.

This year was different - my meds made it different. Those blast GLP1s. But that’s ok, I used my money differently - games!

Expensive yes but fun. I almost shot the whole red star! Impressive, am I right?!

I don’t actually feel bad that I didn’t want any crap, I felt the opposite.

I am changing my past bad choices. No I don’t feel like I missed out. I choose something else.

Maybe next year I’ll get the whole star.

Pizza looked good this morning

I know I’m allowed cheat days but if I can’t enjoy one then what is the point? Yesterday I went on a wine tour and had fun with friends and family. I got to enjoy life. I don’t get that many days to do, enjoy. But this is where my slice of pizza fits in….

I decided to relax today. Simple as that.

In the past I would beat myself up for having a cheat and rest day. But you need that in life. I didn’t derail my progress, in fact I think I saved it. I mean I’m going to burn myself out and I am going to derail my progress.

So ladies and gentlemen, continue your journey but just remember to enjoy life. The hard part is coming back from life.

Let’s start really journaling this

As I sit here in bed I’ve finally found the courage to tell my story. I started a weight loss and weight lifting journey about a year ago. September 10th is when I started my food log but it’s been a year since I really started changing my health and appearance. It’s been a tough journey so far, but I don’t plan on stopping. I consider the first year a year of mistakes and learning. I didn’t know what to do and didn’t really have any money to get help for it. I didn’t start going to a personal trainer once a week. But it took a long time to nail something down. Now I’m not saying I know everything, I still feel like I’m learning new things all the time and everyday I’m tweaking my workouts and diet.

Whether you agree with me or not but it all started with doom scrolling. One hour, an hour and a half later I was still just doom scrolling. And I thought “what is wrong with you”! That hour, hour and a half could have been working out. Or at least doing something productive.

Another thing that has helped me was my OCD. Yes I have OCD and couldn’t be prouder. I have been honing in my OCD to use it a positive way. My OCD has made me discipline myself into continuing my journey.

What I need to work on is my sleep schedule. So I bid a good night for now.

Next time….
